The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) would like to register its deep concern and
disappointment at the recent comments made by Mr. Francis Atwoli, Secretary General
of the Central Organization of Trade Unions (Kenya), regarding the future of Nairobi
National Park.
While speaking on 22nd June 2025 in support of a proposed railway line between Riruta
and Ngong, Mr. Atwoli reportedly suggested that Nairobi National Park should be
cleared to make way for residential, industrial, and infrastructural development, and
that wildlife should be relocated to the Maasai Mara to accommodate growing human
population in Nairobi.
