10th ISK Africa Regional Conference | 28th CASLE Conference | 4th Young Surveyors Africa Meeting

It is my honor and pleasure to welcome you to the upcoming 10th ISK Africa Regional Conference, held in conjunction with the 28th CASLE Conference and the 4th FIG Young Surveyors – Africa Meeting, scheduled to take place from 27th to 31st October 2025 in Mombasa, Kenya.

This historic gathering brings together three premier events under one roof, convening a diverse and distinguished assembly of professionals, government representatives, policymakers, development partners, academia, and emerging leaders in the land and built environment sector. With the themes “Future-Ready Landed Professionals: Fostering Excellence and Resilience,” and “Learn. Innovate. Transform” we are responding to the urgent call to innovate, adapt, and collaborate in shaping resilient societies, cities, and economies across Africa and the Commonwealth.

These conferences are more than just platforms for discussion—they are a convergence of thought leadership, strategic networking, and actionable outcomes. We look forward to insightful conversations on sustainable land governance, digital transformation, youth inclusion, and climate-responsive planning—topics that sit at the heart of our profession’s evolution.

Mombasa, a city that embodies Africa’s dynamism and hospitality, offers the perfect backdrop for this landmark event. As the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, I warmly invite you to participate, exhibit, sponsor, and engage. Whether you are a seasoned expert or an emerging voice, your presence will add immense value to the collective vision we are building.

Let us come together to shape the future of our profession—future-ready, resilient, and united.

Warm regards,
Nelly Mbugua

Background

The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK), in collaboration with the Commonwealth Association of Surveying and Land Economy (CASLE) and the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Young Surveyors Network – Africa Region, announces a historic convergence of three significant events in the global land and built environment sector. Scheduled from 27th to 31st October 2025 at the PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort and Spa, Mombasa, this joint initiative aims to foster professional excellence, cross-generational dialogue, and continental collaboration.

  • The 10th  ISK Africa Regional Conference has evolved into a premier platform for professionals in the land and built environment sector in Africa. Since its inception, the conference has tackled emerging issues in policy, practice, and innovation, while creating a strong voice for African Surveyors in shaping the global agenda.
  • The 28th CASLE Conference marks another milestone in the Commonwealth’s efforts to support professional development, land governance, and sustainable development goals across member countries. CASLE continues to champion excellence in surveying and land economy, with a focus on strengthening institutional frameworks and international cooperation.
  • The 4th FIG Young Surveyors – Africa Meeting offers a vibrant space for emerging professionals to build networks, amplify youth voices, and catalyze innovation. It supports knowledge exchange, mentorship, and leadership development for young professionals shaping the future of the industry.

The 10th ISK Africa Regional Conference will bring together young surveyors as well as professionals from Government, Private Sector, development partners, academia, and policymakers from Kenya and across the globe to a common stage to network, exchange ideas, and share best practices as part of enhancing contribution to local and international development in the land and built sector.

The 4th FIG Young Surveyors Africa Forum on 27th and 28th October 2025, will set the stage for young professionals to dialogue and engage on cross-generational collaboration in the survey profession. This will spur mentorship and mantle passing to the current and future generations of the landed professionals in Kenya, and Africa region.

As the African continent experiences dynamic socio-economic transformation, the role of landed professionals in fostering excellence and resilience is expected to play a much more critical role. The Conference will explore key thematic areas including land governance, smart technologies, urban development, capacity building, and the growing impact of geospatial innovation in socio economic transformation in the continent.

Through keynote addresses, technical sessions, panel discussions, and networking forums, the Conference will provide a platform to:
