ISK Jointly with Chief Government Valuer and KRA presents guidelines to operationalize Section 10A of Stamp Duty Act, Cap 480 on 17th May 2019 at Ardhi House


The Institution of Surveyors Kenya (ISK) jointly with the Chief Government Valuer and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) presented draft guidelines to operationalize Section 10A of the Stamp Duty Act, Cap 480, that allows Registered and Practicing Valuers to carry out Valuation for Stamp Duty purposes. The guidelines were developed by a committee comprising ISK, KRA, Chief Government Valuer, Valuers Registration Board (VRB) and Collector of Stamp Duty. The guidelines shall be gazetted within the next one week.
The meeting was attended by Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, Farida Karoney, Chief Administrative Secretary, Hon. Gideon M Mung’aro, Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nicholas Muraguri Kanja, Chief Government Valuer, Mr. Charles Moemi, Legal Adviser Caroline Menin, ISK Chairman, Mr. Abraham Samoei, VEMS Chapter Chair, Mr. Bernard Gachoka, Mr. Jesse Kihoro, ISK Member, ISK Policy Officer Robert Koech, Mr. Desterious Shilabukha and Mr. Leornard Cheserem from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
