ISK council and UN Habitant team at the ISK offices after signing the MOU
The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat).
The MoU provides framework of cooperation between UN-Habitat and ISK with the overall objective of improving land governance in Kenya. This collaboration will be implemented with a focus on undertaking joint research and capacity development in the application of tools and approaches for improving tenure security and land governance in Kenya. Through the MoU, both parties shall also collaborate and work together to enhance fit-for-purpose land administration approaches for improving land governance.
It is expected that as a result of such collaboration, the following primary will be realized;
(a) Joint strategy to raise awareness towards stakeholders and decision makers on land governance and land tenure
(b) Raise awareness on fit-for-purpose and inclusive land administration to the surveying profession in Kenya
(c) Implementation of land tools to improve land governance
(d) Young Surveyors to intern at UN-Habitat
The signed MoU shall be in place shall remain valid until 20/06/ 2022 from today 11 July 2018
