The ISK Pr and Editorial team held a land clinic in Embu County in Kathanjuri location on Saturday 17th September 2016. The land clinic was organised in partnership with Kathanjuri associates,a non profit community group that hold different functions to support the community.
The land clinic was officially opened by the Assistant County commissioner Joyce Akinyi. Ms Akinyi said that land information is key to development and the community should embrace the learnings and become ambassadors of diseminating the information.
The topics presented included succession and acquisition of title/leases to land by Ronald Matende, Rights and obligations to land by Dennis Deus, Land dispute resolution mechanisms by Michael Lumadede and how to derive maximum value from land by Isabella Njeru.
The team was also priviledged to have the presence of ISK former Chair Ibrahim Mwathane Chair who presented on land subdivision, survey and boundary matters.
The land clinic attracted over 60 participants who included teachers,farmers,assitant chief and church representatives.
