ISK Hold A Press Conference on Delay Of National Infrastructure Projects By Compulsory Land Acquisition Process
ISK held a press conference on delay of National Infrastructure Projects by compulsory Land Acquisition Process on 4th July 2016 at the ISK offices. In last few years, the Government has been carrying out compulsory land acquisition to facilitate the implementation of various infrastructure projects of national importance. Key among these are the construction of Standard Gauge Railway, Construction and expansion of existing road network and construction of power lines.
The ISK Chairman Mr Stephen Ambani said that the process of compulsory land acquisition in Kenya has received a lot of negative publicity. Sections of media in the past two weeks have highlighted this issue and especially the loss of millions of shillings in the process. There has also been court cases that have dragged for a long period delaying the implementation of the projects. More of this in the Press statement.
