ISK HOLDS ITS ANNUAL GALA DINNER WITH POMP AND STYLE

ISK held its annual gala dinner on 5th December 2014 at the Sarova Panafric Hotel.Attended by over 100 members the event was graced by senior,graduate students members and council officials.

The ISK Chairman Paul Wambua welcomed the members thanking them for the support they accorded to the Institution during the year.

The highlights of the dinner summarised the achievements of ISK that included a recent presentation of a bid to the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) for hosting the FIG Working week 2019,Releasing the professional examination results on time, thecouncil outreach visits to Western Kenya, Central Kenya, South and North Rift Regions, the release of press statements, press releases  on several topical land and property issues,the land clinics and interviews with property shows on TV among others.

The guest speakers led by the PS Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development representative Washington Abuto who read the PS speech acknowledged the Ministry support to ISK.He reported on the milestones undertaken by the Ministry in several counties to improve efficiency in the land registries,noting that the exercise had  reported huge improvement in terms of efficiencies. Having reorganized the registries, the Ministry is now embarking on the process of implementing a National Land Management Information System which will be beneficial to the ISK members who interact with the registries on a regular basis.

The Chief Guest Hon Humprey Njuguna, a past ISK Chair and Senator Lenny Kivuti, the  Chairman  of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Land and Natural Resources expressed their commitment  to  support the draft bills in getting enacted into law.The legislators called on the surveyors to be proud of their profession and charge their fees according to the  professional scale.

Mr Wambua  acknowledged  and thanked the  Optron Pty Limited,ARM Cement Ltd Ramani Geosystems Ltd ,Broll Kenya Ltd and Oakar services for their partnership  with ISK and support during ISK events.
